UP Minister slams Akhilesh Yadav for doing ‘twitter politics’, dismisses his tug-of-war charge

Siddharth Nath Singh said that tweeting from your drawing room was an easy thing to do but in order to become a mass leader, one had to go out in the field which Yogi did , not only during the Covid but all through his tenure so far.

New Delhi: Broadsiding Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav for what he dubbed as ‘figment of imagination’, senior cabinet minister and spokesperson of Uttar Pradesh government Siddharth Nath Singh said it was typical of a leader who always did his politics from his air conditioned comfort without mingling with the people.

” It is most unfortunate that a person like Akhilesh, while sitting in an ivory tower, did not bother to mention even one of many pro-people steps taken by the Yogi government instead he unsuccessfully tried to run down the popular governance,” Singh said in a statement on Wednesday adding ” Akhilesh should show some maturity in this regard.”

The UP Minister said that what the ‘double engine’ BJP government did during the last four and half years was for everyone to see and admire. ” The leaders who based their entire politics on twitter without stepping out to help humanity in the time of crisis, are raising questions of the Chief Minister who is always on ground with the people and for the people,” he pointed out.

Singh said that starting from day one, Yogi as Chief Minister only thought about farmers, women, under-privileged classes. The farmers’ loan waiver of Rs 36,000 crore was the first step which showed good intentions of the Yogi government. The development in the form of construction of expressways, airports, houses for poor and a conducive environment for the industry were some of his proactive measures which would serve the state for all times to come.

“It is no mean achievement that the state took a giant leap to reach at number two in Ease Of Doing Business besides attracting the investment by organising the most successful Investor Summit,” he said.

” It is no wonder that the Samajwadi Party was thrown out of power in 2017. This time also, the people do not seem in mood to back this party whose political mainstay has been the ‘parivarwad’, he said reminding that hall mark of the previous government had been the nepotism, casteism, corruption and favouritism unlike BJP which always followed the mantra of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishvas’.
