Uttar Pradesh: New Covid-19 cases dip to 1,497, lowest count in last 2 months

Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, maintaining the trend of COVID graph southwards, recorded 1,497 cases, a sharp slide from 1,908 cases on Saturday.

New Delhi: With swift measures, micro-planning, alertness and an aggressive approach to contain the virus, Uttar Pradesh has recorded a decline by 88.1 percent in the number of Active Covid Cases since its peak on April 30, as the active cases have dropped from 3,10,783 to nearly 37,000 now.

Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, maintaining the trend of COVID graph southwards, recorded 1,497 cases, a sharp slide from 1,908 cases on Saturday. The fresh Covid-19 infections were recorded below fifteen hundred for the first time since the second wave surge of COVID-19 cases in the state.

The Daily infection count has been reduced by more than 36,000 from its peak that was capped at 38,055 on April 24.

So far, the state has undertaken the highest number of tests in the country, a total of 4,94,094,46, out of which nearly 2.50 crore tests were conducted in the rural areas. Uttar Pradesh as a part of its rigorous T3 testing regime conducted over 3,12,677 COVID tests in the last 24 hours, out of which 1.42 lakh were done through swab samples subjected to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing.

With the Recovery of about 16,37,944 patients and consistent improvement in the Covid condition of the state, the Recovery Rate has climbed up to a good 96.6 percent.

Covid test positivity rate drops below 0.5%

With only 1,497 positive samples out of 3.12 lakh COVID tests in the last 24 hours, the Daily Test Positivity Rate (TPR) has dropped below 0.5 percent in Uttar Pradesh. The TPR stands at 0.47 percent, which is the lowest so far and has been maintained below 1 percent for six days in a row.

Covid-19 treatment

Consequently, as a result of decreasing Transmision of the virus the number of containment zones in the state have also been reduced to only 16,730 now.

So far, as many as 61 districts with less than 600 active cases have been exempted from the Corona curfew in view of the decreasing infection rate of the virus. The total number of Active Covid Cases in Sonbhadra, Deoria Baghpat, Prayagraj, Bijnor and Moradabad districts have also been reduced to less than 600 in the last 24 hours and thus, the Corona Curfew has been eased in these districts as well.

The Partial Corona Curfew restrictions now only remain in as many as 14 districts of the state.

Yogi Adityanath

In an encouraging sign, the number of patients in home isolation in the state has also been reduced to 20,782. This is a result of timely provision of free medical treatment, medicine kits and regular teleconsultation as per the directions issued by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Despite being densely populated, the Covid deaths in Uttar Pradesh have recorded a drastic decline as the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) has dropped to 1.2 percent.
