When an overbearing IPL fan was left red faced with Dean Jones' witty reply.....

New Delhi: Australian cricketer turned sports commentator Dean Jones passed away in Mumbai on Thursday after suffering a heart attack. He was part of the STAR Sports commentary panel for IPL 2020. It is understood that Brett Lee, his fellow commentator, tried to give him CPR but unsuccessfully. On Thursday morning Jones had breakfast with Lee and another commentator, Nikhil Chopra.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing away of Mr. Dean Mervyn Jones AM. He died of a sudden cardiac arrest. We express our deep condolences to his family and stand ready to support them in this difficult time. We are in touch with the Australian High Commission to make the necessary arrangements,” Star India said in a statement.

The social media has brought the cricketers and fans closer than ever and Dean Jones is one of the most active cricketers on social media and interacts with the fans on a regular basis. One has seen replying to the fans’ queries on a daily basis.

Something similar happened with former Australia batsman Dean Jones on Twitter on Wednesday. Dean Jones realised not every cricket fan likes him and he realised it in a rude manner.

The man took to Twitter to criticise Dean Jones. Calling the Australian ‘the most annoying commentator ever’, he urged Star Sports to dismiss him ASAP.

“Dean Jones is the most annoying commentator ever. Seems like a very annoying person as well. @StarSportsIndia needs to dismiss him ASAP, else the #IPL2020 needs to be watched on mute,” wrote the man.

Dean Jones’ reply:

“All good.. people are allowed to have their opinions!” he told another user when urged to ignore the trolling comment.
