New Delhi: Famous poet Munawwar Rana on Thursday courted controversy by tweeting hateful remarks over Bihar election results. Apparently upset over loss of Mahagathbandhan in Bihar electoral battle, the poet tweeted controversial remarks.
“Muslims! Congratulations on Owaisi’s victory and defeat of Bihar. I am a poet, why will you listen to me ?,” Rana tweeted.
Rana’s remarks are seen as his angry outburst against the victory of right-thinking alliance but the tone and tenor of his tweet smacks of fuelling communal overtones.
Through his tweet, he seeks to lambast the particular community for supporting Asaduddin Owaisi and this in turn adversely affecting consolidation of Muslim votes in favour of grand alliance.
मुसलमानों! तुम्हे औवैसी की जीत और बिहार की हार मुबारक हो।
मैं तो शायर हूँ मेरी बात कहां मानोगे,
तुमने झुठला दिए दुनिया में पयम्बर कितने।#Bihar— Munawwar Rana (@MunawwarRana) November 11, 2020
Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM opened its accounts in Bihar elections by winning 5 seats in Bihar’s Seemanchal region. Poll observers too said that he ruined Tejashwi-led alliance’s chances by cutting its vote bank in the last phase.

Poet booked for ‘justifying’ France terror attack
Famous poet Munawwar Rana has been booked for his support of France terror attacks. Rana had come out in support of the attacker in France by justifying the killings.
He had said that the caricatures are made to defame Prophet Muhammad and Islam. Such acts force people to take extreme steps, as in the case of France. He further said that he too would have done the same had he been in his place.
